1. Heart Braid

A heart-shaped braid is a Valentine’s Day classic! It’s sweet, creative, and surprisingly easy to pull off.

How to Create It:

  • Start by using JO-Hair’s Detangling Spray, smooth out any knots to make braiding and brushing easier.
  • Then divide the hair half up and half down. Then, create one pony tail.
  • Separate the ponytail into two sections and braid each section.
  • Use JO-Hair Pomade to keep braids in tact.
  • Use a topsy tail tool and feed the braid under the ponytail (Link to Topsy Tail Tool) - Tighten the pony.
  • Spread the two braids apart to form a cute heart shaped look.
  • Add a bow or Glitter Gel (Make your own glitter gel with our JO-Hair Gel tutorial here)
  • Combine the two ends at the bottom with another elastic, creating a full heart.

Pro Tip: Use JO-Hair’s Pomade for a polished finish that keeps flyaways at bay!

2. Sleek Back Love Bun

For a quick yet cute look, the love bun is a winning choice. Perfect for school and afterschool activities like: Dance and Cheer

How to Create It:

  • Start by creating a sleek back medium hight ponytail.
    • Use  JO-Hair’s Detangling Spray, smooth out any knots to make braiding and brushing  easier.
    • Then we like to wet the hair with a mister. This helps the gel to apply smoothly and evenly. (Link to Hair Mister)
    • Scoop a bit of JO-Hair Gel, rub evenly between fingers and gently slide by adding a bit of pressure (starting from the roots moving down to ponytail) and keep doing this until nice and smooth look.
    • Pro Tip: We like to use a Sleek Soft Bristle Brush to achieve that ultra sleek look. (Link to Soft Bristle Brush)
  • To create the the heart shaped bun. You will need a bun maker and tie a corner of the bun with a rubber band and do the same on the other corner to achieve a mouse ear look. (Link to Bun Maker)
  • Using the bigger (bottom part) put fingers through that part and grab the ponytail and feed the hair through the bun.
  • Secure the bun by tightening the ponytail and adjust the bun as desired.
  • Now you'll have to evenly distribute the pony hair around the bun and place a rubber band around the bun.
  • Section off the excess hair into two parts.
  • Braid each part. You can use JO-Hair Pomade to secure any flyaways.
  • Wrap the braids around the bun by wrapping one going up and the other going down- secure with bobby pins.
  • Add cute scrunchie if desired.

Why We Love It: This simple yet cute hair style just adds that extra Valentine's spirit to your child's hair.
